Ella Warnick is an Arizona-based director and cinematographer. A recent graduate and emerging filmmaker, Ella uses film to navigate the space between art, culture, and science, highlighting issues of environmental justice, resource management, and climate resilience.
As a student in environmental and sustainability studies at the University of Utah, she produced her first short film, The Long Fight, which was screened at the International Uranium Film Festival in Window Rock, Arizona, and Las Vegas. Ella’s intimate, observational style penetrates the fraught relationship between humans and the natural world, centering characters who strive to repair that broken connection.
Ella spends her free-time exploring the diverse landscapes of the American West. From red rock deserts to the high alpine, she loves anything to do with the outdoors, but particularly enjoys climbing, hiking, and canyoneering.
